January 24, 2019: Day 24:

Thank you, everyone, for all of your help. It is overwhelming the number of people that have donated, sent us cards, phone calls, and text messages. Than you so very much!

This is where we would rather walk

Today was a good day. One of the challenges that Amy going through that has affected her tremendously is diet. When you are fighting cancer, you don’t really feel like eating. This has been a challenge, and many people lose a lot of weight when fighting cancer. But every day she is making progress and getting better.

Yesterday and today are good days, she loves fish, so yesterday it was salmon and brown rice. Today it was fresh haddock and mashed potatoes. One of my concerns for Amy is keeping the weight on during her treatments which will be starting in the next two weeks.

I am finding it more challenging than I thought to juggle working to earn a living, caring for our robust three children and caring for my wife. My first priority is always to my wife and children.

I also have a much greater respect and love for the fact that so many stay at home mothers have the hardest job in the world. They have to manage multiple children, by feeding them, teaching them life, clothing them, settling disputes and just loving on them throughout the day. My wife has done this like a champ, of course, I am biased because she is my wife.

I am so very thankful for all the money that has poured in. Got our first medical bill today after insurance got paid. I am so thankful that I know that I can write the check to get that paid. Thank you to you all for that!

Not actually her dinner, but close

Next week we are back to the hospital for the followup meeting with oncology: radiology. At this appointment, we’ll know when and how many days she’ll have to go through radiation treatments. She also has to have a radiation mask made, so that’ll be a challenge for her.

I praise God for all that He has done in our lives. For the past 15 years, I have been blessed to have a wonderful wife, mother and best friend to walk through life with. Our hope and trust is in the Lord Jesus Christ. Without Him in our lives, we would be a wreck. He has blessed us in so many ways, it is impossible to write them all down. He has brought so many wonderful people into our lives that we call family.
How can you pray? I get asked this question, so here is the answer.

Pray for:
• Complete healing so she can be a mom again and watch her babies grow up.
• For peace and comfort as she walks through this.
• For strength in the Lord and physical strength to endure the treatments.
• For her weight to increase and get stronger every day.
We have a mighty God and he can do anything!
• Please also Pray for any friends and family that are battling cancer for the same things, as they are in an amazing struggle for their lives.

Thank you all for your support. I praise God for every single one of you that have donated to help us, prayer for us and sent encouraging notes.
Love the Thompsons

I am the husband of my wife Amy for the 15+ years. Thankful to be a father to several wonderful children and humbly trying to live my life to glorify Christ as my Lord and Savior.
